I was burned twice before throwing these away. They are just too small to protect your hands. I originally bought them thinking they would be good for grabbing hot items from the microwave, but I found it easier to just slide a hot plate or bowl onto a silicone trivet. Then, I started using them to grab hot pot lids on the stove, but you get such poor grip, since they don't mold to what you're picking up, that the lid twists and results in a burn. Overall, I didn't find these to be useful enough to justify the risk.
